AppearanceI'm sick of pretending that I don't cry myself to sleep every night after you leave. (But I guess telling you that is better than telling you what I do on the nights you aren't here at all.)

CrashI can still hear the cars screeching to a halt. I guess I should just be happy that I walked away from that twisted heap of metal. But you never forget what it's like to crash. You're paralyzed, wondering if it's your blood or his that's soaking into your hair. The sirens will become the lullaby that you fall asleep to evey night. You'll keep seeing red and blue lights whenever you close your eyes. I just have to say thank you for being willing to drive me to the hospital. I'll have you know that I've healed quite nicely. And I'll have you know that, the day you first pulled me from the wreckage... I knew this time wasn't an accident.

TherapyThis is the end if you want it to be. Soon I'll be an ocean away, and you can forget everything. But I can't lie to you without my voice giving it away.

"It's fine. I'm okay. I'm not scared. I don't miss you terribly."

I don't expect a fairytale. I won't come home and run straight into your arms in slow motion. There will be no happy music playing when I see your face again. This is real life, and, damn it, it's not perfect.

(But I can still hope that this won't be the end.)

NegativesI'm stuck here exactly as I am, waiting on negatives... those things that can't, won't, shouldn't happen. The phone isn't going to ring again. I won't wake up with your heart pressed to mine. You're never going to love me. I shouldn't try to magically obtain the courage to say that I miss you. I can't change myself back to who I was.

But it's always what we want that we can't have, isn't it?

Slowing DownDo you regret it, love? If life as we know it ends now, was it worth it? Was I worth it? I know you must be wondering all the same thoughts that I am. I'm asking the what if questions now before I run out of chances to ask anything at all. And you don't have to answer, but please hear me out. We don't have time. This world is full of choices
Some are right, and some are wrong
I made the choice to love you
Though I didn’t know it all along

It started with a few small words
It was then that I knew
I was falling so deep into love
And I was in love with you

I didn’t want to believe it
I tried with all my strength to fight my heart
I never thought that I was worth it
But that was just blindness on my part
